Bangkok’s best long run loop

You visit Bangkok for a few days and have long run in your training plan.

You google for a place to run.

Most park in Bangkok are only 1-4 km per lap. Now what? Where to run?

Today I would like to share my special long run course. It's 6-7.5 km per loop, cover three parks, 99% car free, can be accessed through Bangkok's MRT subway line.

Let's start!

There are 2 choices to start this course.

Firstly, you may use MRT subway and go to Chatuchak park.

From there, start running and head north. Run until you reach turn around point. Run further and look for train musuem. Exit Chatuchak park at this point and connect to Vachirabenjatas park (Suan Rot Fai) here.

This is the only area which you will face traffic when you have to go across Kamphangphet 3 road and enter Vachirabenjatas Park on the opposite side.

Turn right and follow running path which will bring you around the park.

Connect with Queen Sirikit Park at park's entrance bridge before you reach Butterfly Garden.

Inside Queen Sirikit Park, you can choose to run between dirt track beside normal brick surface track. Distance covered inside this park would be around 1.5 km.

Exit this park at the same point you enter and follow Vachirabenjatas's running path until you reach an exit which opposite Chatuchak Park.

Cross Kampangphet 3 road again and go back to run inside Chatuchak park until reaching the park' MRT entrance. Total distance would be 7-7.5 km.

Second choice of start point is at Vachirabenjatas's main entrance at Nikom Rotfai 1 road. Recommended run course would be Vachirabenjatas Park followed by Queen Sirikit Park and Chatuchak Park then finish at start point at Vachirabenjatas Park.

You can find food, snacks, drinks, rental bike, rental mat at this point.

Conclusion

Operating Hours : 05.00-21.00

Tip: Most local people go to Vachirabenjatas Park on weekend in the afternoon. It is better to avoid running at that time.

Safety: Some part of Vachirabenjatas Park is a shared route of running and cycling. Run course inside Chatuchak and Queen Sirikit park are dedicated for running and walking only.

Water Station: Buy at local vendors around Vachirabenjatas Park's entrance

Run course surface: concrete, asphalt, soil, gravel, brick
